I’m Laura, owner of Town Common Books.

I’m a Norwood resident, and mom of one kid and one dog. My husband and I moved to Norwood from Boston in 2021 shortly before our son was born.

My background is in music! I am a cellist and was a music teacher for many years. Most recently I worked in higher education academic advising.

I have always loved to read. I have strong memories from childhood of leaving the public library with a huge stack of books, only to return the following week to take out another stack. My current favorite genres are contemporary romance, thrillers, and historical fiction.

Owning a bookstore has been a lofty dream in my head for years, and in early 2026 I decided to go for it and start taking steps towards opening Town Common Books. I wanted to build a literary gathering space right here in Norwood for everyone to come together and build community.
